Robby
Schwarz, a principle with EnergyLogic, Inc. a Colorado based
energy services organization primarily serving the residential
construction industry. In 1995 after working with a local
production home builder trying to determine what of the then new
green building materials could be brought into the production
building environment, Robby was stung by the building science
bug. He started a company BuiltWright, Inc. which merged with
EnergySmiths at the beginning of 2006 to become the largest
energy rating and building consulting firm of its kind in
Colorado. Today EnergyLogic works with builders of all sizes to
ensure that the high performance homes they are building truly
meet their customer’s expectations.
Since the
start of his career Robby has been training and educating the
building industry on building science, performance, and
efficiency issues. Early on he became a trainer for E-Star
Colorado and has continued training Energy Raters to this day.
He has been involved with presentations at industry conferences
such as RESNET, EEBA, the Energy Star Summit, and the Colorado
Chapter of the IECC. He is an active member of the Home
Builders Association and has been taped to perform trainings on
the Federal Tax Credit, Insulation, and often takes part in
Built Green Colorado’s University.

Home industry professionals who partner with EPA’s ENERGY
STAR can increase revenue, enhance customer satisfaction, and
gain national recognition as industry and environmental leaders.
Through ENERGY STAR, builders and other home industry
professionals can differentiate themselves in the market.
The Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) is working with several
Colorado cities, including Denver and Parker to support the
statewide construction and testing of new energy efficient
single family homes built to ENERGY STAR standards. The program
will also increase consumer awareness of energy efficiency
options in residential new construction, and support all
participating Colorado ENERGY STAR homebuilders. All certified
new homes will receive the ENERGY STAR label to allow for simple
identification by Colorado home buyers.
ENERGY STAR qualified homes are at least 15% more energy
efficient than homes built to the 2004 International
Residential Code (IRC) and include additional energy-saving
features that typically make them 20-30% more efficient than
standard homes. Your home designs, layouts, and option packages
need not change to incorporate energy efficiency. Builders can
choose from a variety of “tried and true” energy efficiency
features to meet ENERGY STAR performance guidelines.
ENERGY STAR was introduced by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based
partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through increased
energy efficiency. Today, ENERGY STAR offers businesses and
consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy, save money,
and help protect the environment for future generations. More
than 9,000 organizations are ENERGY STAR partners, committed to
improving energy efficiency in homes, products, and businesses. |
